The Personal Injury Attorney will manage a docket of personal injury cases with a significant concentration in product liability, including defective products, unsafe consumer goods, medical devices, automotive defects, and industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Litigation
Manage all phases of personal injury and product liability cases from initial intake through resolution (settlement, arbitration, or trial)
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, case strategies, and litigation plans
Handle depositions of parties, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses
Prepare and argue motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions
Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations with defense counsel and insurers
Assist with or lead trial preparation and trial proceedings as appropriate
Product Liability-Specific Responsibilities
Handle claims involving design defects, manufacturing defects, and failure-to-warn allegations
Analyze and apply state and federal product liability laws and regulations
Work with engineering, medical, scientific, and economic experts
Review technical documents, product specifications, recalls, and corporate records
Develop liability theories against manufacturers, distributors, and retailers
Assist in multi-plaintiff or coordinated litigation matters when applicable
Client Interaction & Advocacy
Conduct client intakes, evaluations, and ongoing communications
Advise clients on case status, litigation risks, and settlement options
Establish trust-based relationships with clients during sensitive and complex cases
Ensure excellent client service and responsiveness throughout representation
Collaboration & Firm Contribution
Work closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and legal assistants
Contribute to firm-wide strategy discussions and case evaluations
Support business development and referral relationships when applicable
Qualifications
Required:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license and good standing with the state bar
3–8+ years of experience in personal injury litigation
Prior experience with product liability cases strongly preferred
Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
